Skatchface is an artist from the Poughkeepsie, NY. With a BFA in graphic design and a passion for skateboarding and street art, he has shown his fine art and created murals across the US. His work often combines the grotesque with the irreverent. You can find his recent work on his instagram @skatchface.
In my artwork, I seek to capture the quiet torment, and disaffection that characterizes modern American life. My work exists at the intersection of the grotesque and the irreverent, where dense, organic line work creates a sense of urgency in direct reaction to the overwhelming futility and tragic comedy that surrounds us.

Despite the underlying themes that my work addresses, it’s meant to be appreciated at multiple levels and not taken too seriously. I believe that art can be a means of finding humor and light in even the darkest of times, and I strive to create work that balances the weight of its subject matter with a sense of playful experimentation.

At its core, my art is a reflection of my belief in the power of expression to effect change. By highlighting the struggles and injustices that pervade our society, I hope to inspire others in the fight for a more just and equitable world. Whether through subversion or humor, my goal is to create art that challenges the status quo and encourages viewers to question authority.
